FRANCIS H. PALM JR. - ST. ALBANS - Francis (Frank) H. Palm Jr. passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 18, 2012. Born Sept. 13, 1932, in Burlington, the son of the late Francis and Villa (Tatro) Palm. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Catherine Webb Palm; and two sisters, Claribelle LeBlanc Smith and Ruth Smith Cook. He leaves his wife of 59 years, Flora (Blair) Palm, who he married on June 19, 1953. He also leaves a son, Craig Palm and his wife, Becca, of Newcastle, Wash., a daughter, Jane Suder; his son-in-law, Bill Suder; two grandsons, Daniel and Eric Suder, all of Burlington; and two step-grandchildren, Deborah and Douglas Christal of Washington. He is also survived by his two sisters, Laura Parker of California and Anita Rakochy of Burlington; and nephews and nieces. He was in the Vermont National Guard and the Army, serving with the 1st Infantry division, military police in Wurzburg, Germany. He was employed by the University of Vermont and IBM. He served on the Burlington School Board for 19 years and enjoyed politics. He wintered in Florida for many years. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling and relaxing. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Corbin and Palmer in Burlington. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, in the chapel at Corbin and Palmer on South Union Street. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
