JACQUELINE H. CARDELL Obituary
JACQUELINE H. CARDELL - BURLINGTON - Jacqueline H. Cardell, 76, of Burlington, died on Friday, March 28, 2014, in Fletcher Allen Health Care after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. She was born in Flushing, N.Y., on April 4, 1937, the daughter of Thomas and Evelyn (Davis) Hathaway. On Oct. 6, 1956, she was married, in Northfield, to James F. Cardell. Jacqueline enjoyed knitting, sewing and gardening. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband in their search for antiques. She retired from her career as manager of the Caswell Credit Union in 1994. She is survived by her husband, James F. Cardell of Burlington; two daughters, Kathy Griffiths and husband, Daniel, of Colchester, and Linda Potvin and husband, James, of Mount Holly; one brother, Phillip Hathaway of Pittsburg, N.H.; five grandchildren, Sarah Potvin, D.J. Griffiths, Kristin Potvin, Meghan Stockamore, and Jessica Alber; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother and stepfather, Evelyn and Clayton Kirkpatrick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 11 a.m. in St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Ready Funeral and Cremation Service South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Rd., Burlington.
