JAMES ELDON BAUGHMAN - BROWNSVILLE, Texas - James Eldon Baughman, 83, formerly of Huntington, died June 16, 2013, in Brownsville, Texas. Born in Manhattan, Kan., on Dec. 4, 1929, to James and Barbara Fronce Baughman, he was the youngest of six siblings. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years, earning numerous awards and commendations before settling in Vermont in 1968. Later he served in the Air Force Reserves for nine years, being honorably discharged in 1977 then worked for INS for 20 years before finally retiring in 1992. He was an avid gardener and swimmer who held many trophies in the sport. Predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Edith, in 2003, he remarried in 2008 and moved to Texas in 2009. He is survived by his wife, Paulette Baughman of Brownsville, Texas; son, Leland Baughman; daughters, Lynn (Gary) Rivers, Sandra (Danny) Eason, and Susan (Ted) Duchaine; and two grandchildren.
