JOHN E BOMBARD SR. - RICHMOND - John E. Bombard Sr., 69, went to the Lord in Peace, with his family by his side, on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013. He was born in Burlington on June 26, 1943, to Arthur and Evelyn (Hance) Bombard. He retired from S.D. Ireland as a truck driver after working for Mountain Transit for almost 18 years. He loved all the trips he took with the school children, which he often stated. John also assisted in Richmond Rescue for many years. He leaves Dorothy, his loving wife of nearly 50 years; his sons, John Jr. of Richmond and Arthur Sr. and wife, Lisa, of Swanton, and their three children, Arthur Jr. and wife, Jammie, and Heather and Hayden. He also leaves his daughter, Lori Ring and husband, Wayne, and their sons, Charles and Calvin of Williston; his sister, Nancy and husband, Jim, and their two sons; his aunts and many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his special friend, Cheyenne, who also worked at Ireland's, along with many friends in Richmond who he'd like to thank. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his baby daughter; and two brothers and one sister. A prayer service will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m., during visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. at Elmwood-Meunier Funeral Chapel, 97 Elmwood Ave., Burlington. Spring interment will be in East End Cemetery, Williston. Memorial donations may be sent to V.N.A. Hospice, 1110 Prim Rd., Colchester, VT 05446.
