Obituary Condolences

LARRY L. LARROW, DVM - ST. ALBANS - Larry L. Larrow, DVM, a lifelong area resident and veterinarian, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, in the Northwestern Medical Center, with his family at his side. Larry was born on June 29, 1931, in St. Albans, the son of the late Bernard and Janice (Mears) Larow. Larry Lloyd Larrow, known as "Triple L - LLL" was 81 years old. On June 21, 1952, in Bellows Falls, he married Margaret "Peggy" Sullivan, who survives him. Larry was a 1948 graduate of Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans and then attended U.V.M and went on to graduate in 1956 from Cornell University with a Veterinary Degree. For 38 years, he operated Champlain Veterinary Clinic in St. Albans. Larry was very community oriented. He was an active member of the Franklin County Democratic Party and attended the 1964 National Democratic Convention in Atlantic City, was a ast president of the Owl Club, served as Mayor of St. Albans from 1968 to 1970, served on the B.F.A. Board of Trustees and the Board of the Franklin County Home Health Agency. Larry was a founding member of both the Mt. Sinai Motor Corp and St. Albans Skating Association. He delivered Meals on Wheels and was an active member of Habitat for Humanity. Larry was a 3rd Degree Mason, member of Hobasco Lodge # 716, F&AM in Ithaca, N.Y., and Mt Sinai Temple #3, A.A.O.N.M.S. His greatest enjoyments were his family and motorcycle. His many trips included a cross country trip he and Peggy took on the bike in 1984 to California. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Peggy; their children and spouses, Lonnie Larrow and Ray Buskey and their children, Jacob and Emily; Larry D. and Kathy Larrow and their children, Corey and Carlie; Leigh and Tim Hicks and their children, Zachary and Nathan; Lane and Bonny Larrow and their children, Randy and Jennifer, Rex and Lisa and their daughter, Devyn, and Michael and Ryan; and Lloyd and Sharlene Larrow and their children, Tyler, Makenna and Linsey. Larry is also survived by his siblings, Susan Gaylor, Dale and Heather Larow; his stepsister, Fern and Warren Sparks; his half brother, Gary and Linda Larow; his half sister, Beth Larow; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy. Larry's family would like to thank the staff at the Northwestern Medical Center for the care and support he and his family received. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, on Fairfield Street, with the Reverend Brian J. O'Donnell as celebrant.
