LAWRENCE "SAM" COTE - HYDE PARK - Lawrence "Sam" Cote, 93, died peacefully in Berlin Health & Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, April 20, 2013. He was born April 26, 1919, in Coaticook, Quebec, the son of Eugene Charles and Alvine Poulin Cote. He married Anita Inkel on Oct. 21, 1946, at St. Teresa's Church in Hyde Park. He served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W.II, and was a longtime member of VFW Post #9653 in Morrisville. Sam was a faithful member of St. Teresa's Church in Hyde Park. Sam was a selfemployed building contractor, working decades alongside his brother building and remodeling countless homes in the area. He loved gardening, hunting and fishing, and just enjoyed being in the outdoors. Most of all, he was a true family man. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Anita; their children, Emile Cote and wife, Diane, of Charlotte, Brian Cote and wife, Debbie, of Morrisville, Steven Cote and wife, Johnna, of Portland, Conn., and daughter, Lisa Cross and husband, Doug, of Morrisville; grandchildren, Scott Cote and wife, Raashi, Tyler Cote and fiancée, Jenn, Danielle Cote, Selina Cote, Michael Cote, Christopher Cote, Ryan Cross, and Eric Cross; brother, Roger Cote of Morrisville; sisters-in-law, Pauline Cote, Marie Cote, and Gloria Cote, all of Morrisville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sons, Alec, Alan, and James Cote; and siblings, Alcide, Alphonse, Charles, Wilfred, Omer, Germaine, Henry, Yvonne, Eva, Paul, Roland and Denis. There will be a private family service with interment in St. Teresa's Cemetery. White-Fiess Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sam's memory may be made to Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center, Recreation & Activities Fund, 98 Hospitality Drive, Barre, VT 05641.
