MAJOR RICHARD F. JARVIS - ST. ALBANS - Major Richard F. Jarvis, U.S.A.F. (Retired), died on Jan. 1, 2014, in the Franklin County Rehab Center in St. Albans. He was born in Isle LaMotte on Dec. 27, 1919, the son of the late Wilbur and Katherine (Tusa) Jarvis. He leaves his wife, Doris (LaBounty) Jarvis; children, Molly Jarvis of Burlington, Richard Jarvis Jr. and his wife, Claudia, of Sanford, Maine, James Jarvis and his wife, Karen, of Buffalo, N.Y., Arlene Jarvis of St. Albans, and Nancy Mueller and her husband, John, of LaFayette, N.Y.; his sisters, Velma Cameron of Alburgh, and Theresa Hinman of South Burlington; and brothers, Ken Jarvis of Burlington, and William Jarvis of Pennsylvania. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Madeline Pearo; and brother, Florin Jarvis. A private memorial service and burial are being planned for the spring at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph, Vt.
