Obituary Condolences

MARK E. GOULET COLCHESTER - Mark E. Goulet, 58, of Colchester, died unexpectedly on Saturday Oct. 3, 2009, at his residence. He was born in Burlington on March 28, 1951, the son of Lyman and Helen (Rice) Goulet. Mark attended school in Colchester and graduated from Burlington High school in 1970, where he was known for his talent on the football field and his sense of humor. He served in the Vermont Air National Guard from 1971-1977. Mark had a passion for cars and worked at Shearer Chevrolet for many years. He then worked for Larry Audette as a carpenter before becoming a selfemployed contractor in 1989. Mark was very creative and skilled in finish carpentry. Mark was an avid sports fan supporting the Yankees and Giants. He loved the outdoors especially fishing with his partner Jackie. He was the family caterer at many family functions. He also loved working in his garden. Mark is survived by his lifetime partner, Jacqueline Merrick of Colchester; his brothers and sister, Craig and Annette Goulet of Harrison, Ark., Dean Goulet of East Brookfield, Dan Goulet and Jude Powers of Norwich, Jerry Goulet and his partner Rebecca Provost of Williston and Martha and Scott Noel of Alburg; and several nephews, Shawn Louis and Sean Patrick of Arkansas, and Justin, Jacob and Jeremiah Goulet of Royalton. He was predeceased by his parents. Mark also left behind his extended family, Raymond and Alice Merrick of Virginia, Debbie and Shawn Sodergren of Connecticut, Karen Haglund of Colchester, and Sherry and Phillip Adams of Michigan; their children, Allen James and Mika Merrick, Cassandra, Andrew and Corey Sodergren, Ashley, Adam and Alexis Haglund, Melissa, Myra Beth and Bradley Adams; and many more friends and family who will miss him greatly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church with interment to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Annex, Burlington.
