MARY J. (KNEEN) LYNCH - BERNARDSTON, Mass. - Mary J. (Kneen) Lynch, 71, of Bernardston, Mass., formerly of Lynn, Mass., died unexpectedly at her home on May 19, 2013. Born in Burlington, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Lawrence K. and Hazel A. (Melbourne) Kneen. She was raised in Burlington and lived in Lynn, Mass., for many years, before moving to Bernardston, Mass., after her retirement. A bookkeeper, Mary retired from the Lynn Police Department. She was always active in her local community, and spent time volunteering to help the elderly. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and making stained glass. An independent woman, she also loved to travel. She is survived by three sons, John F. Lynch and his wife, Lisa, Christopher L. Lynch and his wife, Diane, and Michael T. Lynch, all of Lynn, Mass.; one daughter, Mary Jo of Spring Grove, Pa.; two brothers, John B. Kneen and William G. Kneen; three sisters, Elizabeth Huard, Ann Twohig, and Teresa Thibodeau; as well as nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her dog, Buddy. She was the sister of the late Lawrence K. Kneen Jr.; and former wife of the late John F. Lynch III. Her memorial visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St. (Rt 1A), Lynn, Mass.
