MARY LOU OLDFIELD, R.N. BURLINGTON - Mary Lou Oldfield, 64, of Burlington, died on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009 in Fletcher Allen Health Care. She was born in Tupper Lake, N.Y. on Feb. 22, 1944 the daughter of the late Oliver and Ruth (Robideau) Belisle. She graduated from Tupper Lake High School in 1962 and Champlain Valley School of Nursing in 1965. On Jan. 21, 1967 she was married to Lee Oldfield in St. Alphonsus Church in Tupper Lake. Mary Lou spent her life caring for others. She worked for the Sunmount State Hospital in Tupper Lake before moving to Vermont in 1969 where she was employed at Birchwood Terrace Healthcare for 37 years. She was a dedicated member of St. Mark's Church. Mary Lou had strong work ethics and values. She was a loving and compassionate wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed fishing on the "Lou Lee" with her husband, as well as walking, snowshoeing, kayaking, and traveling with her friends. Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Lee Oldfield of Burlington; their children, Lynn Morrill and husband Gregory of Milton, Vt., Jill Bolton and husband Christopher of Franklin, Vt., and Brian Oldfield and wife Alison of Colchester, Vt.; seven grandchildren Andrew, Matthew, Alexander, and Karyn Burns; Emily and Madeleine Gates, and Kristen Bolton. She is also survived by her beloved dog "Molly". She was predeceased by her brother the Rev. Jude Belisle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009 at 10 a.m. in St. Mark's Church, Burlington. Visiting hours will be on Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Ready Funeral & Cremation Service North Chapel, 934 North Ave. Burlington.
