MARY M. DEMPSEY - ESSEX JUNCTION - Mary M. Dempsey, 83, of Essex Junction died on Thursday, May 8, 2014, in the Vermont Respite House in Williston. She was born in Rutland on Aug. 31, 1930, the daughter of Bernard and Madeline (Daley) Wilson. She was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy class of 1948 and served her country in the Women's Army Corps. She had worked for the Internal Revenue Service from 1963 to 1968 and then for the Immigration and Naturalization Service until her retirement in 1990. Mary is survived by her four children and their spouses, Michael and Joyce Dempsey of Loveland, Colo., Steve and Patty Dempsey of Colchester, Patty and Mike Dykas of Morrisonville, N.Y., and Carol and Ed Hardy of Essex Junction; five grandchildren and their spouses, Mike Myers and fiancee, Sarah Roy, Richie Myers, Sam Myers, Sarah Myers and Darrin Peck, and Brian Dempsey; three great-grandchildren, Noah Peck, Savannah Peck and Abigail Myers; her brother, Tom and wife, Dot Wilson; special nephews, Terry and wife, Nancy Wilson, and Hal and wife, Lauralee Wilson, as well as many other nieces and nephews; a cousin, Jackie Daley; and very close friend, Grace Richer. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Madeline; and by two aunts, Margaret Shields and Mary Daley.
