NANCY V. (DELORME) BARONE - SOUTH BURLINGTON - Nancy V. (Delorme) Barone, 76, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 26, 2013. Mom was born in her family home in South Burlington on Feb. 14, 1937, to the late Alfred A. and Irene (Courcy) Delorme. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1954, with awards of excellence in business studies. Mom began working as an account manager at Vermont Hardware. After her children were in school, she worked in the credit department at Sears department store, and as a typist helping her kids with their school papers. For the past 15 years, she worked as an account manager at MGV Associates in Colchester, a job she thoroughly enjoyed and made many new friends. Mom was talented and prolific in all mediums of needlework, gifting us all with cherished keepsakes. She enjoyed gardening and could often be found planting and weeding in her gardens in the early morning hours. After work, she would curl up on the swing by the pool with a book or a glass of wine and share her wonderful stories of her day or of days gone by. She had a true gift for floral arranging, making all of the centerpieces, favors and pew decorations for her granddaughter's wedding. She traveled extensively with her daughter and her family throughout the Northeast and on several cruises out of the country, took many excursions with her friends in the Southeast, and even took a hot air balloon ride out West while visiting several national parks! Mom sang in the church choir for over 25 years at Christ the King Church, and most recently at St. John Vianney Church. Never idle, Mom also volunteered in various capacities at St. John Vianney, and especially enjoyed her time with Cindy in the parish office. Mom married our beloved father, Bernard "Bruno" Barone, on June 7, 1958, at St. John Vianney Church in South Burlington. Together they raised their four children, daughter, Patty and her husband, Gary Caron, of Colchester; son, Bernie and his wife, Nancy Barone, of South Burlington, with whom she had a mother-daughter relationship and with whom she lived in a beautiful addition he built on his house for her; son, Russ and his wife, Kim Barone, of Williston; and daughter, Terry Barone of Montreal, Canada. She was the cherished grandmother of 10, Stacey Cote, Hillary Ainsworth, and Kyle Caron; Bernie Jr. and Jennifer Barone; Katlin Candido, Dominic, Danielle and Lexi Barone; and Blaise Lobo. She was the world's best playmate and great-grandmother to Adelise Cote and Avery Ainsworth, and was expecting her third greatgrandchild (baby Candido) this summer. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Bernard, in 1997; sisters, Brenda Nolin and Karen Anderson; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and brother and sister-inlaws. In addition to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she is survived by sister, Marlene Champagne of Ocala, Fla.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts; as well as her many dear friends, most especially her "soul sister," Lucille Bedard; the "Bridge girls," Lee, Doris, Lucille and Kathy; the "L" friends, Lucille, Lois and Louise; and her friend and mentor, Maureen Garofano. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Jamie Kelly, PA and Brent Devenney from Fletcher Allen Health Care for their expertise, care and concern for Mom; to the VNA; and to our "angel" Linda Shangraw who took such loving care of Mom and of her family. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2013, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at the Ready Funeral Home South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 29, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. John Vianney Church in South Burlington. Donations may be made in Mom's name to the Sisters of Mercy, 100 Mansfield Ave., Burlington, VT 05401. Mom - We will always miss you and your unconditional love and support. We will cherish our many happy memories and keep you with us in our hearts forever.
