NORMAN FRANCIS SOURDIFF - WINOOSKI - Norman Francis Sourdiff, 79, of Winooski, died on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, in Starr Farm Nursing Center. He was born in Burlington on March 21, 1934, the son of the late Joseph and Genevieve (Leclair) Sourdiff. Norm worked for the University of Vermont for 45 years as a lab technician in the Pharmacology Department. He is survived by his children, Craig Sourdiff and companion, Nancy Goodroe of Milton, Carol Lesage of Colchester, and Claire Chamberlain of Colchester; his grandchildren, Anthony Sourdiff, Andrew and Laurie Lesage, Adam Chamberlain, and Steven Chamberlain Jr. and wife, Andrea; great- grandchildren, Madison Sourdiff, Mackenzie, Broderick, and Quincy Chamberlain; his siblings, Pearl Bittner, Ronald Sourdiff and wife, Charlene, and Richard Sourdiff and wife, Sheila; former wife, Theresa Lesage; his dog, Benji; and by several nieces and nephews. Norm was predeceased by his companion, Blanche Matton; son-in-law, Steven Chamberlain; stepmother, Pauline Sourdiff; and his two sisters, Leona Bora and Arlene Chamberlain. Our mother, Theresa Lesage, and brother, Craig Sourdiff, gave loving care to Norman enabling him to stay at his home for the last 12 years with the help of many caregivers, especially James Myers and Arlene Norton. The family extends special thanks to Dr. Karen Sokol, VNA and Hospice of the Champlain Valley, Starr Farm, and his special nurse, Heather. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at 12 p.m. at the Ready Funeral & Cremation Service South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Rd., Burlington. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
