PATRICK J. TULLY Obituary
PATRICK J. TULLY - FRANKLIN / BURLINGTON - Patrick J. Tully, 71, of Franklin, formerly of Burlington, died peacefully at home on Sunday, March 24, 2013. Patrick was born in Burlington on June 10, 1941, the son of Daniel and Mamie (Fortin) Tully. He was a graduate of Rice Memorial High School, Class of '59, and served his country for the United States Navy. Patrick was married in Burlington on Nov. 11, 1961, to Wanda (Sumner) Tully, who predeceased him in 1989. Pat owned and operated S & P Market and the Red Lion in Burlington for many years. He joined the Burlington Fire Department in 1961, retiring as Captain Patrick J. Tully in 1986 after 25 years of service. Following retirement, Pat and Wanda owned and operated the Mill Pond Campground in Franklin, and worked seasonally at Vermont State Parks. He enjoyed golfing, summers on Lake Carmi, and spending time with family and friends. Pat is survived by three daughters, Lynn Tully and James Sweet, Danielle Rylant and her husband, Todd, and Colleen Legault and her husband, Jim; four grandchildren, Stephany Tully and Joe Loyer, Patrick Rylant and his wife, Alison, Christopher Rylant, and Brooke Legault; his great-granddaughter, Lillian Rylant; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents in 1974. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St. in Winooski. Funeral services will be on Friday, March 29, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Burlington. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Burlington at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Burlington Fire Department, Attn: Chief Lasker, 136 South Winooski Ave., Burlington, VT 05401.
