PETER LORNE CHURCH - MILTON - Peter Lorne Church, age 64, passed away at his home in Milton on Jan. 18, 2013. As a youngster, he attended grade schools in Vermont, Maryland, Texas and Indiana, and then spent his first three years of high school in Germany. During his senior year he returned to his beloved Vermont and finished his senior year at Burlington High School, graduating in 1966. Upon graduation, our country was at war in Vietnam, and on his 18th birthday he joined the army. He had basic training in Texas and was eventually deployed to Vietnam as part of a helicopter crew. While in Vietnam, he was exposed to Agent Orange, and it eventually took its toll. Upon completion of his army stint he returned to Vermont and married his love, Deborah Dubie. She predeceased him in 2010 after 39 years of marriage. Peter worked at IBM for many years. In his spare time he was an avid sportsman, and enjoyed deer hunting with his good friends, sitting around camp talking about the one that got away. He is survived by his parents, Richard and Carmen (Cavoretto) Church; and his three children, Heather, Lorne and Nicholas Church. He is also survived by his two brothers and their wives, Michael and Carol Church and Christopher and Lynette Church and their two children, Angeline and Eric Church; his aunts, Marlene Smiley, Nola (Jerry) Cadieux and Rita Church; and numerous cousins.
