RALPH ALBERT HEINEMAN - BURLINGTON - Ralph Albert Heineman died peacefully in the company of his family on Feb. 25, 2013, in Fletcher Allen Health Care. Ralph was born on June 27, 1931, in Hagen, Germany, to Rose Sophie Heineman (nee Knopf) and Paul Heineman (formerly spelled Heinemann). He and his family emigrated to the U.S. when Ralph was three, and he became a naturalized citizen in December 1944. A talented painter and pianist, Ralph graduated from New York High School of Music and Art in Manhattan (now known as LaGuardia High School) in 1949. He received B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from New York University, and served as a Signal Corp Engineer in the Army during the Korean War. "Remarkable Ralph," as his family called him, was a creative entrepreneur and ran two successful businesses with ideas and plans for countless others. Ralph always looked at life through an artist's eye, and continued to enjoy classical music, especially piano. Ralph will be forever loved and missed by his children, Nancy Carle, Susan Bresee and Steven Heineman; siblings, Vera Rogers and George Heineman; four nieces and nephews; and eight grandchildren.
