RENEE MICHELLE FORESTER - ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Our beloved daughter, Renee Forester, went to the Lord on Sept. 23, 2013, while at the Community Hospice Bailey Center in St. Augustine, Fla. She was born to Claudette and Norbert Lavigne in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., on Sept. 29, 1965. She moved to Burlington, Vt., in 1968. Renee attended Mater Christi School and Rice Memorial High School, before entering the University of Vermont where she received her bachelor of science degree in December 1987, and her Master of Science in Biostatistics/Statistics in June 1998. Renee entered the workforce as an Engineer/Scientist for the IBM Corporation in Essex Junction. In 1998, she accepted a position as a Statistician for the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation for two years, before accepting a position as a Statistical Consultant with the Vermont Alcohol Research Center in 1999. While at the Vermont Alcohol Research Center, she published a paper relating the impact of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on alcohol consumption. In 2006, she followed her husband, Peter Forester, to Jacksonville, Fla., where she became a math teacher at both the middle school and high school levels. Renee is survived by her son, Jeffrey Waag of St. Augustine, Fla.; parents, Claudette and Norbert Lavigne of Burlington, Vt.; sister, Suzanne and her husband, Jeremy, of Lafayette, Colo.; and brother, Andrew and his wife, Jenna, and their two children, A.J. and Alex, of Wilmington, Mass. She is also survived by her aunt, Gloria and her husband, Leo, of Nashua, N.H.; aunt, Eleanor Ciardelli of Nashua, N.H.; and numerous cousins. During her life, Renee had many friends who consistently showed their love for her during her nine year battle with metastatic breast cancer. Despite these many battles, she always had a ready smile and a positive outlook. She loved life! The family would like to thank her many friends for their support during her last battles, and especially thank the staff at the Community Hospice Bailey Center for the truly wonderful care during her last days. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Community Hospice Bailey Family Center, 200 Health Park Blvd., St. Augustine, FL 32086. A memorial service will be held in the Spring of 2014.
