Bob was a great guy and a genius at his craft. He helped me out many times in the few years I got to know him. I am glad I got to meet him and hear many of his stories. I wish I could have heard more. I will never forget him and he will be greatly missed.

I served on POLK from 10/66 until 02/70- All POLK Sailors from Pre-Commissioning untill De-Commissioning are wrapped into the USS JAMES K. POLK (SSBN/SSN 645) VETERAN'S ASSOCIATION. Although I do not know Robert personnally, please accept my sincere condolences on your loss. He shall be remembered at our Memorial Moment at our next Meeting in July in Clearwater, FL. Robert, Rest your oars.

Although I served on the Polk after Robert, we are still a close knit group. Rest in peace Shipmate.

I'm sorry for your loss. I was a paper boy for your mother. I bought Frank's Ford Fairlane from her for $200 when he went off to the service. And I still remember Robert...."Tootsie"? He was 3 years ahead of me at Rice. Again...so sorry.
