ROBERT W. AMES I BURLINGTON - Robert W. Ames I left us at the age of 83 on Dec. 25, 2013, in Starr Farm Nursing Center, from cancer. He was born on May 30, 1930, in Youngstown, N.Y., to Byron and Esther (Dixon) Ames. Bob was a baker at Fassetts-Bouyea Bakery for over 30 years. After retiring, he worked at Hannaford Supermarket on Shelburne Road for 10 years. He served honorably with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed people, Bingo, casinos, ball games, and family and friends, when he could. He leaves five children and spouses, Charlene and Bill Jock of Connecticut, Sherry and Richard Stuart of North Carolina, Doris and Doug Spingola of Connecticut, Robbin and Wally Cross of Jericho, and Robert and Patty Ames of Virginia; three stepchildren, Craig Sourdiff, Carol Lesage, and Claire Chamberlain; 10 grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren, Stephanie, Tammie, Tina, April, John, James, Douglas, Denny, Veronica, Patrick, Andy, Laurie, Adam, and T.J.; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Theresa Lesage, whom he adored and loved. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary; father, Byron; mother, Ester Duval; stepfather, Arthur Duval; and granddaughter, Jennifer Stuart. His family would like to thank the Starr Farm staff, Hospice team and the V.A. They all did an excellent job taking care of him. A spring graveside service will be held on May 10, 2014, in Mt.
