SHIRLEY BARON - BURLINGTON, Vt./ CHARLOTTE HARBOR, Fla. - Shirley Bergeron Baron, a lifetime resident of Burlington, passed away Feb. 18, 2014. Born in Burlington on May 19, 1928, she was the only child of Cecille I. Francis Bergeron and Frederick A. Bergeron. Shirley was married to Raymond F. Baron Sr. for 44 years, and was predeceased by him in 1995. Shirley graduated from Cathedral High School and Becker College in Worcester, Mass. She was employed at the Howard Bank on Church Street from 1947 to 1952. In 1970, she returned to work in the Trust Department of the Howard Bank on Main Street in Burlington, until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of the Heineberg Senior Center; Burlington Professional Women's Club, Santa Maria Circle of the Daughter's of Isabella, CRMC Wellness Center, and was a member of the San Antonio Church Choir in Port Charlotte, Fla., for 12 years. She volunteered for Hospice of SW Florida, Hospice of Champlain Valley and the Charlotte Regional Medical Center of Punta Gorda, Fla. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Lefebvre and husband, Mitch, and Pamela Longe and husband, Alan; son, Raymond Baron Jr.; seven grandchildren, Alison Longe Dattilio and husband, Patrick, Chad Longe and wife, Colleen, Joshua Longe and wife, Tara, Christopher Lefebvre and wife, Michelle, Matt Lefebvre and fiancee, Heather Gordon, and Jason and Brittany Baron; six greatgrandchildren; several cousins; and many dear friends including, Janice Robbins. We would like to thank the nursing staff at FAHC and Burlington Health and Rehab for their kindness and care shown to Shirley during her stay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at 1 p.m. in St. Mark Church, 1251 North Avenue, Burlington, with burial to follow in New Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Burlington. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. in Ready Funeral and Cremation Service South Chapel, and 261 Shelburne Road, Burlington.
