CATHERINE FRANCIS KHOURY MILTON - Our beloved aunt, Catherine Francis Khoury, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at the age of 86. She will finally be reunited with her sisters, brother, and family in Heaven, and let the party begin. Catherine was born in Burlington on Feb. 23, 1927, the daughter of the late Thomas and Eva (Ranzenberger) Khoury. She was employed at Headstart, where she tested hearing and eyesight in the Burlington school system for many years, and also at the St. Joseph's Home for the Aged, from where she retired. Tatoo, as she was known to many, was such a loving and caring person, always willing to help in any way that she could. She had a strong sense of family and tried to stay in touch with everyone. Every year on the holidays she would have Masses said for all those family members that had predeceased her. Holidays were very special to her. She looked forward to seeing family members and friends and to see that everyone had presents at Christmas, which was quite the undertaking. She missed her sister, Margaret, so very much, especially during the holidays. They would bake, cook and sing holiday songs together. She always waited with great anticipation for the visits of her niece, Bella, and got her wish to see the birth of her newest nephew and niece, Jack and Lilly. Catherine is survived by her nephew, Patrick Church of Milton, which she called her home for the last 14 years; and sister, Regina Gay of Burlington. She was also a great-great-great-aunt, which she was very proud of, and is survived by 32 nieces and 35 nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Michael Khoury and wife, Freda; sister, Elizabeth (Khoury) Fortune and husband, John Sr.; her beloved sister, Margaret Church; brotherin-law, Edward Gay; stepfather, Theron Quint; nephews, Dan Rothenburger Sr., Randy Rothenberger, and Terry Moore; niece, Wanda Khoury; and adopted nephew, Reggie Blow. Catherine's family would like to thank her outstanding doctors, Dr. Chris Hebert, Dr. Alan Segal and Dr. Ed Terrien for their compassionate care over the years, her friends at the Groovy Lunch Bunch at the Arrowhead Senior Center, and especially the VNA Hospice team, they are truly God's Angels on Earth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. in St. Ann's Catholic Church in Milton. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m., with prayers offered by Fr. Feltz at 4 p.m., in the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center in Milton.
