BEVERLY MOORE DOW - SHELBURNE/BURLINGTON - Beverly M. Dow, 89, died peacefully at The Arbors in Shelburne on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, following several years of failing health. She was born in Danbury, Conn., on Jan. 31, 1925, the daughter of Milton and Helen (Downs) Moore. Beverly was a graduate of Stowe High School. On Aug. 12, 1950, she married Alan P. Dow in Windsor. Beverly was an active and faithful member of the First Congregational Church in Burlington for 50 years. She was a regular volunteer in the Possibility Shop at the church, a 35-year volunteer at the Red Cross, and was the "Cookie Chairman" for the New North End Girl Scouts for numerous years. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, David and Joanne Dow of Georgia, Vt., Rebecca "Becky" Gianni and Michael of Burlington, and Steven and Judy Dow of Essex Junction; five grandchildren, Adam and Keiko Dow, Jessica Dow and husband, Adam Murray, Scott and Stacy Dow, Corey Dow and partner, Jennifer, and Matthew Dow and partner, Samantha; stepgrandsons, Scott and wife, Karen, and Steven; five great-grandchildren; brother, Ernest Moore; sister, Ramona Chamberlain; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alan P. Dow; infant sister, Ella Moore; brother, Milton Moore Jr.; sisters-in-law, Flossie Moore and Theresa Moore; and brother-in-law, Edward Chamberlain. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 71 South Union St., Burlington. Funeral services will be celebrated on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at 10 a.m. in the First Congregational Church in Burlington. Burial will be in the family lot at 1 p.m. The family has requested that memorial gifts be made to the , Vermont Chapter, 300 Cornerstone Dr., Willistion, VT 05495.
