CLAIRE LAPLANT COLCHESTER - Claire LaPlant, 78, of Colchester, left us on Saturday, March 8, 2014. Claire was born on June 20, 1935, in Burlington, the daughter of Yvonne (Rousseau) and Joseph Cloutier. She is survived by her husband, Robert LaPlant, who will miss her very deeply. After raising her children, she worked as a Lab Technician within Pathology at the Fletcher Allen hospital for many years. She was the best mother and wife ever and was truly treasured by her family and friends. Claire was an adventurous person who loved spending time with her grandchildren. She loved laughter, traveling, shopping, festivals, parades, watching the birds on the feeder, flower shopping, gardening, enjoying the spring blooming (especially while the trees were wispy and the willows were bright yellow), and drinking wine on the beach with family and friends. She was able to bring so much joy and warmth to the people she loved while supporting all of our endeavors. Her children will remember many fond memories which include Steve's Island, Sunday meals with her daughter, Cynthia and husband, Kevin, the trips to Arizona to visit her daughter, Jill and husband, David, going to the Women's International Festival (held the day she left us) with her daughter, Crystal, and Friday's spent with her daughter, Lisa. She is survived by husband, Robert LaPlant; son, Steve and Laurie LaPlant; four daughters, Lisa and Don Wheater, Jill and David Kupic, Cynthia and Kevin Rocheleau, and Crystal and Tyler Dana; and six lovely grand- children, Joshua, Paige, Nicole, Andrew, Marc, and Ethan. She is also survived by her siblings, Pauline Hamelin, Robert (Pat) Cloutier, Maurice (Karen) Cloutier, Suzanne (Don) Dreyer, Rita (Jim) Walton, Raymond Cloutier, Helen (Peter) Rosenblum; and numerous nieces and nephews. Claire was predeceased by her son, William James (Billy Jo); and four siblings, George (Lorraine) Cloutier, Henry Cloutier, Alice (Hal) Graban, and Edna (Alan) Brown; parents, Yvonne and Joseph H. "Sam" Cloutier; and son in-law, Timothy Cootware. Special thanks to the wonderful personnel of the VNA which include Palliative and Hospice Care. The family would also like to thank Aunt Sue and Uncle Don for their support and guidance through the difficult times. There will be no services per Claire's and the family's wishes. Arrangements are in the care of the Cremation Society of Chittenden County, a division of the Ready Family, 261 Shelburne Rd., Burlington. To send online condolences, please visit www.cremationsocietycc. com. In lieu of flowers, please support a "Women's Cause" such as Women Helping Battered Women, Planned Parenthood or the VNA of Colchester. Claire - you are our gem, we love you and will remember you every day! Bob, Steve, Lisa, Jill, Cynthia, Crystal, Laurie, Don, David, Kevin, Tyler, Joshua, Paige, Nicole, Andrew, Marc and Ethan
