JOHN E. TRONO - WINOOSKI - John E. Trono, 85, a lifelong resident of Winooski, died Thursday, May 8, 2014, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington after a short illness. John was born in Winooski, the son of John and Theresa (LeoGrande) Trono, on June 15, 1928. He was educated in Winooski and was a graduate of Winooski High School, Class of 1946. Following graduation, John served his country proudly for the United States Navy. On Nov. 19, 1952, he married Lena (Provost) Trono. John was employed for many years at General Electric in Burlington. He was a member of the VFW, John Ryan Post 1767, and enjoyed golfing, boating and fishing. John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lee Trono; two children, John A. Trono, and Pam Trono; sister, Angelena Houle and her husband, Donald; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Frank, Peter, and Louis Perrino, and Mike Trono; and sister, Mary Mazza. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church on Barlow St. in Winooski, followed by graveside services at New Mount Calvary Cemetery in Burlington.
