Obituary Condolences

WANDA MATTSON - MILTON - Wanda Mattson, 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2014, in the VT Respite House in Williston with her loving family at her side. Wanda was born Feb. 10, 1942, in Winooski, the daughter of the late Henry and Madeline Vuley Barton. On Nov. 27, 1958, she married the love of her life, Warren "Matt" Mattson. She took great pride in being a wife, mother and grandmother, she will be missed by her family as they were number one and no one can ever love them more than her. Wanda's favorite pastime was playing Bingo, where she made many friends. Wanda leaves behind her beloved husband of 55 years, Matt of Milton; children, Kelly Smiel and husband, Willy, Barton Mattson and partner, Lori, and Amanda Brice and husband, Rich; her two shining stars, grandson, Dominick Smiel, and granddaughter, Madison Brice, who never had sitters as they were always taken care of by Nanny and Papa; brother, Richard of Naples, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Sandy, Doris, Elaine, and Maryann Barton; Minnesota in-laws, Wayne and Sharon, Darlene and Ken Russell, and Dick; many loving nieces, nephews and special friends, including Ernie, Lori and Sharon, who spent countless hours visiting with her. Wanda took pride in the fact that she was an only sister to seven brothers. She was predeceased by six of them, Eli, Walter, Roger, Pabby, Ronald and wife, Audrey, and Robert and wife, Shirley; Minnesota in-laws, Harold and Florence, Donna, Shirley and Roy and Jolynn. A special thanks for the wonderful care provided by Milton Rescue, Fletcher Allen Health Care, and the VT Respite House. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home, Route 7, Milton. Prayers will be offered by Fr. John Feltz at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at 11 a.m. in St. Ann Parish, Main Street, Milton. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery.
