ROBIN W. PIERCE GEORGIA - Robin W. Pierce, a lifelong area resident, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014, in Fletcher Allen Health Care with his loving family at his side. Born in St. Albans on Nov. 28, 1945, he was the son of the late Robert F. and Madelyn (Post) Pierce. On July 10, 1965, in St. Albans, he married the love of his life, Marilyn Duprey, who preceded him in death on March 24, 2006. Robin was a 1963 graduate of Bellows Free Academy. He, along with his father, ran Pierce's Pallet Mill in Georgia. He had a long career as a driver/dispatcher with R.L. Vallee, Inc. and upon his retirement, worked for Morf Transport where he drove Limos and Town Cars - a job he truly enjoyed. Robin was active in the town of Georgia, being a longtime member and Treasurer of the Georgia Volunteer Fire Department, served as selectman, President of the Georgia Plain Cemetery Association, and member of the Hope Cemetery Association. He was a lifelong member of the Georgia Plain Baptist Church. His favorite pastimes were boating and being on Lake Champlain, traveling and spending time with his family. Robin is survived by his two daughters, Deborah Lynn and fiance, David Merchant, of Milton, and Susan Pierce Cramer and husband, Andrew, of Colchester; and his granddaughter, Marah Lyn Cramer, who was the apple of his eye. He also leaves Anthony Pelissier, who was like a son; lifelong friend, Dick Pattee and wife, Brenda, of Milton; and many other friends. Special thanks to his FAHC Oncology team, the nursing staff at Shepardson 4 and the Palliative Care team for the outstanding care they provided. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, June 30, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans.
