SHIRLEY JANE (BROWN) PAUL - WEATHERFORD, Texas - Shirley J. Paul, 83, of Weatherford, Texas, formerly of Burlington/South Burlington passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 8, 2014 due to complications from Alzheimer disease. Shirley was born in Burlington on July 5, 1931, the daughter of Harry and Grace (Quebec) Brown. She was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church and a former member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in South Burlington. On Feb. 14, 1974, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Ray Paul, who she leaves behind. Shirley was predeceased by her parents; her brothers and sisters, Leonard Brown and wife, Evelyn, Marjorie Ellis and husband, Raymond, Loretta Thomas and husband, Louis, and Harry Brown Jr. and wife, Kathleen. A nephew, Stephen Brown and wife, Sandra; and a niece, Sandra Ellis, also predeceased her. Shirley is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends in both Texas and Vermont. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St., Winooski, VT 05404. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, 160 Hinesburg Rd., South Burlington.
