JEANNETTE (DAIGNAULT) ST.AMOUR PIERCE - SOUTH BURLINGTON - Jeannette Pierce, 81, of South Burlington, Vt., and Ocala, Fla., passed away unexpectedly from longterm health issues on Aug. 1, 2014. She fought a courageous and graceful battle, passing away quickly with family at her side. Jeannette was born on July 8, 1933, in Burlington, to John and Alice (Levesque) Daignault. She graduated from Cathedral High School, and Trinity College with a degree in Business. Jeannette had a full and challenging career at General Electric, retiring in 1988 after 31 years. She held many positions in accounting, finance, and quality control, and many of her colleagues remain her closest friends. It was at General Electric that she met and married her second husband, Donald. Jeannette had an incredible zest for life. She loved spending time with family and friends and nothing was more important to her than the close relationship she had with her children, grandchildren, and extended family. She had an incredible capacity for love and was always there for family and friends. Jeannette and her sister, Joyce, had a very special bond. They grew stronger and closer every year, leading to a particularly close relationship with Joyce's children, Steven, Laurie, Thomas and Valarie. She was a seasoned traveler, including numerous trips to Europe and many cruises. Jeannette enjoyed life and especially loved new experiences. Jeannette was predeceased by her parents, John and Alice (Levesque) Daignault; siblings, Lillian Daignault, John Daignault, Richard Daignault, and Arthur Daignault; first husband, Donald W. St.Amour; son, Paul W. St.Amour; in-laws, Donald and Madeline Pierce; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Pierce. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Donald S. Pierce Jr.; sister, Joyce (Daignault) and husband, Robert Ricciardi; children, Lynn St.Amour and fiance, Luis Pedraza, of Newton, Mass., Susan and Gordon Lamay, Gail and David Haggarty, Donna and Peter Kinville, all of South Burlington, and Donald and Fran St.Amour of Broadbrook, Conn.; 13 grandchildren, Douglas and wife, Moira (Conway) Lamay, Allison Lamay, Monica and Lara Lamay, Melissa (Lamay) and husband, Michael Brin, Raymond Lamay, Sara Haggarty, Lisa Haggarty, Patrick Kinville, Andrew Kinville, Melissa Kinville, Holly (Mangiagli) and husband, Greg Peck, Heather St.Amour and husband, Nick, and Donald F. St.Amour; many great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her many caregivers, and especially Dr. Peter Gunther for his exceptional care of her and her health. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at 12 p.m. at St. John Vianney Church in South Burlington, where Jeannette was a longtime parishioner. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at Boucher and Pritchard Funeral Home, 85 No. Winooski Avenue, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Road to Recovery, through the , 55 Day Lane, Williston, VT 05495; and Meals on Wheels, 3 Cathedral Square #106, Burlington, VT 05401.
