MARILYN A. LEVERONI Obituary
MARILYN A. LEVERONI WATERBURY, Vt./ HYANNIS, Mass. - Marilyn A. Leveroni, 78, a longtime resident of Hyannis, Mass., and for the past seven years a resident of Waterbury, Vt., passed away in the comfort of her son's home with her family present on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014. Born in Burlington on Nov. 26, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Anna (Cartier) Gee. On May 27, 1989, she married Frank J. Leveroni in Hyannis, Mass. Frank predeceased Marilyn on April 8, 1995. Marilyn was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Burlington and continued her education, graduating with her Bachelor of Art's degree from Cape Cod Community College. Working as a secretary throughout her life, she was employed for many years with the Boston law firm Goodwin, Proctor and Hoar. Marilyn is remembered for the great love she shared and had for her family, her constant presence at her grandchildren's sporting events, the enjoyment and creativity she expressed while knitting, sewing and quilting, how much she enjoyed cooking and reading, and for being a diehard Patriots fan. In addition to being a member of the Red Hat Society and the Mad Quilters Guild in Waitsfield, Vt., Marilyn volunteered at the Waterbury Public Library and donated uncountable numbers of handmade knitted hats, mittens and sweaters to a variety of charitable causes. Prior to moving to Vermont, Marilyn spent and thoroughly enjoyed her 25-plus years on Cape Cod. Marilyn is survived by her children, Laurie A. Furbush of North Attleboro, Mass., and Michael J. Benard and wife, Lisa Mugford, of Waterbury; four granddaughters, Jennifer Furbush, Lindsey Furbush, Anna Benard, and Emma Benard; and two greatgrandchildren, Aaliyah Benard and Branden Wiley. Friends and family are invited to a time of visitation at the PerkinsParker Funeral Home in Waterbury on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment services will take place in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Mass., on Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at 1:15 p.m. To send online condolences please visit us at www.perkinsparker.com and Facebook. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be considered to Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice, 600 Granger Road, Barre VT 05641.
