GENEVIEVE M. VAILLANCOURT SOUTH BURLINGTON - Genevieve M. Vaillancourt, 81, a longtime resident of South Burlington, died peacefully at her loving daughter's home on April 18, 2009, following a long illness. Genevieve was born in Franklin, N.H. on Aug. 30, 1927, the daughter of Ernest and Adrienne (Mercier) Boisvert. She was married in Franklin on Nov. 11, 1950, to Rolland O. Vaillancourt, who predeceased her on April 19, 1996. Genevieve was formerly employed in New Hampshire as a seamstress. She is survived by her daughter Rachel Methot and her husband David of South Burlington; two grandchildren, Nathan Methot and Laura Vaillancourt; twin sisters, Laurette Longden and Yvette Desmarais and her husband Bob; and extended family and friends. Genevieve was predeceased by her son Robert Vaillancourt in 1999, and her grandson Nicholas Methot in 2003. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at 11 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church in Franklin, N.H. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Franklin. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the VNA or Hospice of the Champlain Valley, 1110 Prim Road, Colchester, VT. Local arrangements are with the LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Winooski, Vt.
