ALICE M. SWAN COLCHESTER - Alice M. Swan, 79, passed away Thursday, April, 8, 2010 with her family by her side. Alice was born May 8, 1930 in Milton, the youngest daughter of Edward and Caroline Desranleau. She graduated from Milton High School and attended Burlington Business College. She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Robert K. Swan of Colchester. Alice and Bob kept an abiding love and respect for each other throughout their long relationship. She is also survived by daughters, Kathleen Boccia and her husband, George of Hallowell, ME, Amy Drury and her companion, Douglas Barnard of Essex Junction; and her son, David Swan and his wife, Joanne of Holland, VT; beloved granddaughters, Sara Swan and her husband, Ben Blankinship of San Francisco, Calif., Allison Champagne and her husband, Dana of Monmouth, ME, Lesley Drury of Essex Junction, Lindsey Drury of Tampa, Fla., and Emily Boccia of Hallowell, ME; greatgrandchildren, Benjamin Champagne and Jocelyn Amain; her sister, Irene Adams of Milton; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Emile and Jean Desranleau; brother-in-law, Kenneth Adams; and sisters-in-law, Katherine and Shirley Desranleau. Alice will be deeply missed. Her family's grief will be forever secondary to the joy she radiated through her warmth, sense of humor, wit and perfect timing when sharing a story. She enriched the lives of all those she touched through her contagious laughter, generosity of spirit and authentic grace. Thank you Dearest Alice, Mom, Grammy, We Love You. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Green Mountain Nursing Home for their compassion and support while she was in their care. Recognition and appreciation to Lesley for the untold visits with Gram; the comfort she provided to her and all in the family. At Alice's request there will be no visiting hours.
