FREDERICK M. (MARTY) WILKENS - BURLINGTON - Marty Wilkens, the gadfly of the Hill Section, whose summer flowers many people always enjoyed, died March 21, 2011, and was immediately thrown on the big compost heap in the sky. He was 90 years old. He was predeceased by his dearly beloved wife Ann in October 1991, and is survived by his three great children, Sandra, Peter, and Christopher and their spouses; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. During World War II, Marty served in the US Air Force, and was stationed in the South and Western Pacific for 28 long, continuous months. He was honorably discharged in October 1945. At Marty's specific request, there will be no funeral service, gifts or contributions. If you so desire, the family suggests that a donation could be made to Hospice of the Champlain Valley, 1110 Prim Rd., Colchester,VT. Arrangements are in the care of Stephen C. Gregory and Son Cremation Services, Shelburne. That's it... now bring out the drinks!
