JOSEPH "LOUIS" LUSIGNAN - BURLINGTON - Joseph L. Lusignan, 75, of Burlington died on Saturday, March 26, 2011 in Green Mountain Nursing Home. He was born in Burlington on Dec. 14, 1935 the son of the late Joseph and Cecile (Couture) Lusignan. He served with the US Navy from 1957-1960. On Sept. 4, 1961 he was married to Marie Bissonette at St. Anthony's Church in Burlington. Louis worked for several years at TA Haigh Lumber Company building cabinets. He spent the remainder of his career working as a technician for IBM. Louis is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marie Lusignan of Burlington; their children, Mark Lusignan of Burlington, Kevin Lusignan and wife Julie of Milton, and Jody Watson of St. Albans; three grandchildren, Kasandra and Logan Lusignan, and Hannah Watson; his sister, Corrine McHugh and husband Tom of Burlington; a sister-in-law, Norah Lusignan; a brother-in-law, Wayne Benoit; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Leo Lusignan; and his sister, Pauline Benoit. The family extends special thanks to the staff of Green Mountain Nursing Home for all the wonderful care they provided these past four and a half years. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Louis's name may be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association Vermont Chapter, 1 South Prospect St., Burlington, VT 05401. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church, Burlington, with burial to follow in Resurrection Park Cemetery.
