LOUIS B. GUERRETTE - SARASOTA, Fla. - Louis B. Guerrette, 88, of Sarasota, Fla., passed away, Oct. 30, 2012, surrounded with love and his family by his side. He was born in Lewiston, Maine, on May 9, 1924, the eldest son of Albert and Sophie (Dubois) Guerrette. He proudly served his country well, spending three years in the South Pacific, Feb. 15, 1943, to Jan. 25, 1946. He was a T5 Corporal with the 874th Glider Battalion Company C. He lived in Connecticut most of his working life, working for the Underwood Typewriter Co. for five years. He then worked for Whitney Chain for 32 years. In 1984, he retired to Vermont. In 1994, he moved to Sarasota to be with his two brothers and three sisters. Here he shared many happy times with his family. He was fortunate to travel to many destinations. Their love and affection for each other was unsurpassed. He is survived by his three daughters, Marianne and Roland Forgues, Dianne Croxford and her friend, Michael, and Lorraine and Bill Cromack; sister, Aurela and Roger Veilleux; brother, Rene and Jeannette Guerrette; sisters, Jeanine McGee and Rena McGee; and sister-in-law and companion, Lucy Guerrette. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Janet in 1992; sister, Blanche; brother, Aurel; stepson, Benjamin (Chuck) Donnelly; grandson, Matthew Donnelly; and brothers-in-law, Ray McGee and Andrew McGee. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at the BrownMcClay Funeral Home in Vergennes from 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Vergennes.
