LEROY ORMOND BUSHEY COLCHESTER - Leroy Ormond Bushey passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, in Fletcher Allen Health Care of Burlington. He slipped away peacefully, closely surrounded by family. He was born Aug. 3, 1934, in Burlington, to Ormond Sr. and Bertha (Vincent) Bushey. He was educated through the Burlington and Winooski school systems and served in the U.S. Navy. He volunteered with the Winooski Fire Dept. from 1968 through 1976. He owned his own service station in Winooski for many years. He enjoyed cooking, bowling, dancing and especially time with family. He will be remembered as a warmhearted person with unending generosity. He is survived by the mother of his children, Claire Weston; his stepmother, Pauline Bushey; his children and spouses, Betty and John Blondin, Alan Bushey and caregiver Dan Hoose, Steven Bushey, Carla and Ron Roy and Todd and Becky Bushey; his stepsons, Jeff and Jason Aube, all from the local area; his 11 grandchildren and spouses, Jeremie, Aeron and Peter, Jessica and Paul, Cara and Tyson, Tyler, Ashley and Mike, Brittany, Amie, Katelyn, Myra and Alexander; and five great-grandchildren. He also leaves his siblings and spouses, Joan Mahoney, Bill and Becky Bushey, Lois Booska, Ormond Jr. and Sue Bushey, Richard and Sandy Bushey, Cindy and Leonard Desso, Amber and Dan Bouvier, Jody and Barb Bushey, Rene Maxfield and Betty-Ann Rosenberry; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Leroy was predeceased by his wife, Sheila; and his brother, Francis. The family wishes to call attention to the outstanding support provided by the Palliative Care staff at Fletcher Allen Health Care. Our deepest gratitude! Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., during visitation from 2 to 4 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Elmwood-Meunier Funeral Chapel, 97 Elmwood Ave., Burlington. Spring interment will be held in Malletts Bay Cemetery.
