R. LAWRENCE ROBERTS - BURLINGTON - R. Lawrence "Larry" Roberts, 86, passed away on Feb. 9, 2013, in Fletcher Allen Health Care, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Aug. 24, 1926, to Toussaint and Albina (Giroux) Roberts. Larry graduated from Burlington High School and attended the University of Vermont for two years in business. He was a World War II veteran, and the owner of Roberts Aluminum for 45 years. Larry had a passion for race horses, breeding and racing them all over New England. He married Shirley Tucker, his loving wife of 63 years, on June 3, 1950. Together they had three beautiful daughters, Melody Alarie, Shelley Vinal, and Kelley Gardner. He also is survived by a sister, Annette Racine; one grandson, Jonathan Alaire; two granddaughters, Kourtney Ludwig, and Kassie Soutiere; three great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter. At Larry's request, he was cremated. A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June, 22, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. John Vianney Parish, 160 Hinesburg Road, South Burlington.
