SARAH JOANNE SPENCE - ST. ALBANS - Sarah Joanne Spence, 38, of St. Albans, passed away on July 29, 2013, peacefully at her home that she shared with her son, Kody, and longtime partner, Tim. She was born on April 25, 1975, in Burlington, to proud parents, Donald and Janet Spence. From the moment she was born she caught everyone's attention with her smile and beautiful blue eyes. She had a lot of fun as a child, but still managed to be serious when it was necessary. She attended St. Francis Xavier through grade school, followed by Winooski High School where she graduated in 1992. She finally found her purpose in life on June 10, 1995, when her son, Kody, was born. Over the next 18 years she was devoted to being a wonderful mother to Kody. Sarah had a huge extended family that she always held close to her heart. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, holidays were always a blessing to her. She will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Janet Spence; and baby niece, Kelsie. She is survived by her son, Kody; longtime partner, Tim; brothers, Bryan and longtime partner, Kellie, and Billy and wife, Michelle; nieces, Mercedes and husband, Nathan, Sierra, Brooke, and Megan; nephews, Michael and partner, Layna, Caleb, Bryan Jr., and Shayne; her dearest friends, Bobbie Jo, Kellie, and her second parents, Michael and Shirley Sweetser. Everyone is invited to a celebration of Sarah's life on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the RVA on Weaver Street, Winooski. Potluck to follow, dishes are welcome.
