TERESE M. MONGEON

TERESE M. MONGEON - HINESBURG - Terese M. Mongeon, 64, died peacefully early Sunday morning, July 20, 2014, at her home, after losing her battle with Alzheimer's. Terese was born on July 18, 1950, in Springfield, Mass., the daughter of John and Anne (Burns) Gallo. On Aug. 14, 1971, she married Leonard Mongeon Jr., in Westfield, Mass., and moved to Vermont in 1976. She had worked for the City of Burlington in the Office of the Assessor for many years. Terese loved flowers, going to York Beach, Maine, to be with her sister, and being at camp in Malletts Bay with her cousins, Diane, Paula, Ann Marie, Peter, Larry and Ricky. Her greatest joy in life was in being with her grandchildren and watching them grow up. She is survived by her husband, Lenny; their children, Claudine Ann Mongeon of Bristol, and Anthony James Mongeon of Roanoke, Va.; grandchildren, Alex and Kalvin Bushey, and Anneliese Masi; great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Bushey and her mom, Emma; her dear friend, Gail LaPlant of Hinesburg; and special little friend, Malia Webb. Terese is also survived by her brother, John Gallo and wife, Pamela; sisters, Janet Carpenter and husband, Charles, and Louise Gadboise and husband, Gerry; as well as many nieces and nephews. Both of Terese's parents passed in 2013. Following Terese's wishes, there will be no funeral service or visiting hours.
