Kenneth H. Theobald, 81 of Monkton, VT passed away unexpectedly on October 8, 2016 from complications of heart surgery. Beloved father, brother, husband, uncle, neighbor and friend, Ken was born January 13, 1935 in Potsdam, NY to Ruth L. Theobald and Walter R. Theobald, Ken was a successful dairy farmer in Canton, NY for over 40 years, before retiring to a hobby farm in Monkton, VT. He recently celebrated his marriage of 50 years to Diane S. Theobald. Calling Hours will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 3pm to 7pm at Shelburne Funeral Chapel, Shelburne, VT. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 11am at North Ferrisburg United Methodist Church, N. Ferrisburg, VT.

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Ken during his many years with the St. Lawrence County Planning Board. A man blessed by both wisdom and humility, it was always a pleasure to engage with - and to learn from - him.

His sense of community service, his eagerness to always lend a helping hand and his willingness to share his knowledge serve as a great example of what it means to be a friend, neighbor and citizen.

I am grateful for his time among us and want to thank his family for allowing him the time to be so engaged in community.
