Ellis will be dearly missed by his wife, Carole; brothers, William and Kenny (Rose-Marie); daughters, Lisa (Gordon) Badger, and Nikki (Roger) Dal Santo; sons, William and Jimmy; grandchildren, Alicia, Sara, Paige, Caleb, Samantha, Daniel, Joey, Braden and Charli-Belle; sister-in-law Terry (Price), brothers-in-law, Fred (Lori) Cotton, Cliff (Vicky Farrell) Cotton; nieces, Katie Cotton, Chloe Farrell, Janice Mills; nephews, Bobby Mills, Spencer Cotton (Michelle Giguere), Anthony Price and Scott Price; great-nephew, Liam Cotton; lifelong friend, George Edwards (Marlene); numerous colleagues from Scott Paper Ltd., New Westminster, B.C., and countless friends. Ellis is predeceased by his parents, George and Lorna Mills. Ellis cherished his extended family and, with Carole, willingly opened his home to family in need of love and support, and for family seasonal gatherings and impromptu celebrations. After a long career of forty years with Scott Paper Ltd., Ellis retired in 2005 to enjoy what he had hoped would be many years of improving and enjoying their beautiful property in Aldergrove. Always accompanied by one of numerous cats and dogs, many of which had survived unknown challenges as strays before finding a haven with Ellis and Carole, Ellis would putter on new tasks or simply wonder and marvel at the countless birds and wildlife who came to enjoy the food and sanctuary offered to them. A Celebration of Life for Ellis will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at First Memorial Funeral Home at 14835 Fraser Highway, Surrey, B.C. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to either of Ellis's favourite charities: Langley Animal Protection Services(LAPS) or Union Gospel Mission.
