Arthur "Art" Leroy Rihel, 78, of Butler passed away peacefully Tuesday after a short illness at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Dec. 30, 1934, in Butler, the son of the late James V. and Eva (Buchanan) Rihel.
Art was a U.S. Navy
veteran who served during the Korean War
He was a 1954 graduate of Butler High School.
He retired with 41 years of service from Armco.
Art was known for breeding, handling and showing champion dogs. He belonged to the William H. Miller Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Wally (Kelly) Rihel of Butler; his sister, Verna Vargo of Butler; his four nieces, Edyie Potts, Judy Grossman, Eunice Zabicki and Sandra Selfridge, all of Butler; and his nephew, Robert Domhoff of Butler.
He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Della Ifft and Bertha Domhoff; his two brothers, Robert Rihel and James Rihel Jr.; his three nephews; his five great-nephews; his great niece; and his two great-great-nephews.
RIHEL - Private services for Arthur "Art" Leroy Rihel, who passed away Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, were held. Interment was at Butler County Memorial Park.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, Butler.
