Darwin Smith Adkins
Darwin "Doc" Smith Adkins, 76, of Eau Claire died at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday at his home after an illness.
Born in Pittsburgh, Nov. 11, 1931, he was a son of Nathaniel and Velma Smith Adkins.
He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Eau Claire.
Mr. Adkins was a truck driver. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was honorably discharged with the Korean Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, U.N. Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Bell Adkins; two sons, Samuel A. and Darwin Jr., both of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Sandra Harris of Waynesburg; a brother, Al Adkins of Emlenton; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son and two siblings.
ADKINS - Friends of Darwin "Doc" Smith Adkins, who died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, will be received from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at H. Jack Buzard Funeral, Main Street, in Eau Claire. The funeral service will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Route 38, Eau Claire.
