Dominick Agostino, 86, of Slippery Rock passed away at 7:30 a.m. Friday at his home.
He was born in Branchton, Cherry Township, on Jan. 1, 1927, to Natale Agostino and Mary Josephine Tartaglione.
He was married to Arlene Delores Durnell, who died April 9, 2002.
He worked for 30 years for Grove City Limestone in Branchton as a high lift operator and later worked for 17 years for Adobe Mining before his retirement in 1989.
He was a U.S. Army
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, gardening, hunting, grocery shopping for his sisters, and cooking for his family.
He is survived by one daughter, Debra K. Hertzog of Slippery Rock; five sons, Gary L. Agostino of Slippery Rock, Robert A. Agostino and his wife, Christine, of Harrisville, David R. Agostino of Grove City, Steven C. Agostino of Slippery Rock and Brian K. Agostino of Slippery Rock; four sisters, Theresa DeCola of Slippery Rock, Clara Leone and her husband, James, of Slippery Rock, Roseanna Tackett of Slippery Rock and Mary Ann Nill of Slippery Rock; one brother, Frank Agostino of Slippery Rock; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; one son, Thomas Edward Agostino; one sister, Catherine Agostino; and one brother, Nickolas.
AGOSTINO - Visitation for Dominick Agostino, who died Friday, July 26, 2013, will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday and also from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.
Services will be directly following visitation at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Slippery Rock Cemetery.
