James W. Marnich, 54, of Liberty Township, Mercer County, Slippery Rock, passed away at 8:50 p.m. Saturday at Grove City Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 29, 1959, in Pittsburgh to William and Joanne Marnich.
He married Darlene Bonetti on June 8, 1996.
Jim was a police officer
in Stowe Township and in McKees Rocks, Allegheny County.
He was a member of St. Peter Parish, Slippery Rock.
Jim was active and was the vice president of the Grove City High School Boys Basketball Boosters. He was a 32 degree Mason and a member of the F & AM Lodge 603, Grove City.
Surviving are his wife, Darlene at home; his two sons, Spencer Dorian Marnich and Trevor Furrie Marnich at home, and his in-laws, Furrie and Dora Bonetti of Slippery Rock.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Marnich - The visitation hours for James W. Marnich, who passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, will be at Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Peter Church, 670 S. Main St., Slippery Rock, at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Father Kevin G. Poecking as celebrant.
