John D. "Jack" Clark
John D. "Jack" Clark, 78, of Shippenville passed away Friday evening at Clarview Nursing Home in Sligo following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Clark was born in West Monterey, Clarion County, on April 26, 1934. He was the son of Delmar E. and Mabel S. Fair Clark.
He was married on April 8, 1955, to the former Shirley Ann Edinger. She preceded him in death on Aug. 24, 2009.
A graduate of Parker High School, he was a retired master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Clark's military career spanned more than 21 years.
He was employed for more than 35 years with the Quaker State Oil Refining Corp. in Emlenton and Carson, Calif.
He and his wife had enjoyed traveling. He enjoyed watching football and most especially enjoyed the company of his family and friends.
He is survived by two sons, Mitchell D. Clark of Biloxi, Miss., and Timothy J. Clark and his wife, Michelle, of San Diego, Calif.; five grandchildren, Amanda, Ashley, Andrew, Casey and Corey; four brothers, Edward Clark, James Clark and his wife, Shirley, William "Bus" Clark and his wife, Ellen, and Rickey Clark; a sister, Judy Hyde and her husband, James "Buddy;" a sister-in-law, Betty Clark; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell "Gene" Clark and Paul Clark; a sister-in-law, Carole Clark; and a number of other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
CLARK - A graveside memorial service for John D. "Jack" Clark, who passed away Friday evening, Dec. 7, 2012, will be at noon Saturday at Calvary Cemetery, Dutch Hill, with the Rev. Dan Myers, pastor of the St. Petersburg United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Betsy Cooper, pastor of Shippenville United Methodist Church, officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the Foxburg American Legion and the Parker VFW Posts.
Following interment there will be a funeral dinner and a time of fellowship at the Sligo Presbyterian Church.
