L. Arlene Bailey
L. Arlene Bailey, 84, of Dutch Hill, Parker, entered eternal rest with Jesus Christ at 3:37 p.m. Sunday surrounded by her husband of 63 years and her entire family.
Born in Parker, May 18, 1926, she was daughter of late James Ross and Mary Taylor Kriebel.
Arlene was long affiliated with the Church of God, first at the former Dutch Hill church, and later at the unified Park Hill Church of God at West Freedom. She was a longtime member of the Missionary Society, now the Women of the Church of God.
Arlene's family was of great importance to her, and she loved making her family and friends feel special and loved.
A graduate of the former Parker High School, she attended Indiana State Teachers College, now Indiana (Pa.) University.
Surviving are her husband, William James Bailey, who she married Dec. 21, 1947; one daughter and her husband, Pam and Bill LeVier of Shelocta; four sons and their wives, William J. (Debbie) Jr. of Anderson, Ind., John (Melinda) of Tionesta, Clint (Darlene) of Rimersburg and Stan (Brenda) of Dutch Hill, Parker; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a sister and her husband, Marion (the Rev. David) Bailey of Perryville; and a brother and his wife, the Rev. Alvin (Gloria) Kriebel of Anderson, Ind.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings, Earl and Homer Kriebel, Edna Huselton, Kate Allen and Iva Winslow.
BAILEY - Friends of L. Arlene Bailey, who died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker. Visitation also will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Park Hill Church of God, Lime Plant Road, West Freedom, where services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Church of God staff officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery at Dutch Hill.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Missionary Society International, c/o Park Hill Church of God, Parker, PA 16049.
