Leona M. Barger
Leona M. Barger, 78, of Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sligo, died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday at Clarion Hospital after an illness. She had been a resident of Clarview for eight years.
Born March 31, 1925, in West Monterey, Clarion County, she was the daughter of George and Ethel Barger Kriebel.
Mrs. Barger was a Protestant. As her health permitted, she enjoyed caring for her family and visiting with family and friends.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Blair (Saundra) Kriebel of Foxburg and Mrs. Thomas (Diane) Deitz of Emlenton; two sons, Rodney Barger of Callensburg and Wesley Barger of Parker; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a sister, Blanche Anthony of Parker; three brothers, Ivan Kriebel of Callensburg and Gary and Denny Kriebel, both of Parker; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Dean Barger, whom she married Dec. 23, 1944, died May 3, 1967. A brother also preceded her in death.
BARGER - Friends of Leona M. Barger, who died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME, Wayne Street, Parker. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lonny Wolford, pastor of Park Hill Church of God in West Freedom, officiating. Burial will be at Mount Zion Cemetery, Licking Township, Clarion County.
