Lois Maxine Holt
Lois Maxine Holt, 89, of Butler passed away Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born Oct. 30, 1922, in Butler, the daughter of the late Roy S. Young, Sr. and Violet K. (Waldenmyer) Young.
Lois was a member of St. John's Reformed Church. She enjoyed nature and feeding wildlife. As a devoted mother, she especially loved spending time with her family.
Lois had worked at Bobbie Brooks and Castle Rubber, and she retired from Mine Safety.
Surviving are her husband of 70 years, Thomas H. Holt Sr.; five daughters, Marlene (Ralph) Skelley of Butler, Lana McKinnis of Butler, Paula (John) Shannon of Grove City, Debbie Wonderling of Butler and Robin Hodge of Fenelton; four sons, Larry (Pat) Holt of Butler, Robert Holt of Warren, Ohio, Richard (Lorraine) Holt of Butler and Kevin (Beth) Holt of Butler; daughter-in-law, Susan Holt of Butler; 29 grandchildren; 35 great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Donna Hamilton of Greenville, Pa., Loretta (Ron) Heede of Bradenton, Fla., Marcia Cole of Greeneville, Tenn., and Nancy Hartley of Bradenton, Fla.; and a brother, Robert Young of Bushnell, Fla.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Holt Jr.; three grandchildren, Andrew, Saundra and William; six sisters, Dorothy Sykes, Helen Garvey, Ruth Herold, Violet Weitzel, Joanne Douthett and an infant sister, Charlotte Young; and three brothers, Roy Young Jr., Donald Young and Richard Young.
HOLT - Friends of Lois Maxine Holt, who passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, will be received at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday with Norm Tutino, lay pastor of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.
