Reed Dewayne Campbell, 87, of West Sunbury passed away Tuesday at Orchard Manor in Grove City surrounded by his loving family.
Reed was born April 8, 1925, in Butler County. He was the son of the late Richard James Campbell and the late Viletta Violet Stamm Campbell.
Reed was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II.
He was a member of the North Washington Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and was a Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of the North Washington Volunteer Fire Department.
Reed retired from Penreco where he was a pumper/tester. He also owned and operated school buses for the Moniteau School District and was a farmer.
Reed is survived by one daughter, Karen (Kenneth) Thompson of Charleroi; one son, Donald E. (Barb) Campbell of West Sunbury; four grandchildren, Bethany Meade, Johnathon Thompson, Cody Campbell and Emily Campbell; two sisters, Vera (Leslie) Edinboro of West Sunbury and Jean Fry of Brisbin; three brothers, George Campbell of Oregon, William H. Campbell of Petrolia and A. Clyde Campbell of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews.
Reed was preceded in death by his wife, Betty M. Boyer Campbell, who died April 12, 1979; one sister; and two brothers.
CAMPBELL - Friends of Reed Dewayne Campbell, who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, will be received at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Visitation also will be at the North Washington Presbyterian Church from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Funeral services will follow with the Rev. Kevin Channel, his pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the North Washington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the North Washington Presbyterian Church.
