Richard E. Martinkovich

Richard E. Martinkovich, 78, of Prospect passed away Wednesday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on Jan. 16, 1936, in Prospect, the son of the late Edward F. and Virginia (Janicka) Martinkovich.
Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War.
He received two Bronze Stars, a Combat Infantry Badge, a Korean Service Medal, a National Defense Service Medal, a United Nation Service Medal and a Purple Heart. Richard belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and also was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Association.
His biggest interests were hunting, fishing, camping and boating.
Surviving are his son, Robert Martinkovich; his daughter, Triss Merchant; his stepson, David; his six grandchildren; his three great-grandchildren; and his sister, Shirley Sanders.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Norma J. (Stephenson) Martinkovich.
Martinkovich - Private family services will be held for Richard E. Martinkovich, who passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014.
